President Biden expressed support for Israel’s military operation in Gaza, emphasizing that it should continue until Hamas loses its capacity to harm Israelis.
He called for the Israeli military to exercise caution, particularly near civilian infrastructure, while also acknowledging the difficult situation created by Hamas’s threats.
The Biden administration has condemned terror attacks on Israel and supported its right to defend itself, while also pressuring Israel to allow humanitarian aid to reach Palestinians in Gaza. (Trending: Photos Released Of Cocaine Found In White House)
Biden reportedly claimed that Israel had “an obligation to use as much caution as they can in going after their targets.”
“Hamas said they plan to attack Israelis again and this is terrible dilemma,” added Biden.
“I’m not a fortune-teller, I can’t tell you how long it’s going to last,” Biden told the press.
Continuing, he said, “But I can tell you, I don’t think it ultimately ends until there’s a two-state solution,”
“I made it clear to the Israelis I think it’s a big mistake for them to think they’re going to occupy Gaza and maintain Gaza. I don’t think that works,” warned Biden.
“And so I think you’re going to see efforts to bring along – well, I shouldn’t go into anymore, because it’s things I have been negotiating with Arab countries and others about what the next steps are,” Biden promised.
Biden stressed the need for a two-state solution, expressing that the conflict won’t end until such a solution is achieved.
