bottom line: Developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K have announced a new Borderlands bundle with a unique pricing structure. Your existing Borderlands library will largely determine how good the offering is.
Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box includes all of the franchise’s base games. For those not counting, these are the original versions Borderlands (2009), Borderlands 2 (2012), Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (2014), Tales from the Borderlands (2014), Borderlands 3 (2019), and New Tales from die Borderlands (2022).
Buyers will also get all of the associated downloadable content in one convenient deal, available September 1 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC (via Steam). The digital-only package is $149.99 for newcomers as part of the franchise, but is available for only $59.99 for a limited time. Now comes the tricky part – pricing.
Per 2KIf you already own one or more Borderlands games, the price is as follows:
- Xbox – If you already own a digital copy of a Borderlands game from Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box on Xbox Series or Xbox One and want to complete your collection, you’ll automatically receive a special $30 bundle price in the Microsoft Store.
- steam – If you already own a digital copy of a Borderlands game from Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box on Steam, you only pay for the content you don’t already own. More details can be found on the Steam store page for the bundle, which doesn’t appear to be live as of this writing.
- PlayStation – If you already own a digital or physical copy of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition or Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for PlayStation 4 or a digital or physical copy of Borderlands 3 for PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 and would like to complete your collection, you can go to A special $30 upgrade offer for Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box by launching one of these titles and following the in-game instructions.
Nintendo Switch owners cannot participate, but 2K has announced that Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition will be coming to the Switch later this year. Ultimate edition Includes the base game, all six DLC packs, and all bonus cosmetic packs. Those interested can pre-order it now for $59.99 before it launches on October 6th.
