All eyes are on the western Atlantic Ocean as Hurricane Lee continues to develop as a powerful hurricane.
According to the latest advisory, Lee is still a Category 3 hurricane with winds of 115 mph. The storm is expected to move north toward Puerto Rico and the Leeward Islands this weekend.
Air Force pilots captured interior views of the powerful, electrical storm while flying through the storm. By Saturday morning, National Hurricane Center That said it is still too early to determine what impact Hurricane Lee will have on the U.S., but the NHC said much of the East Coast should still expect dangerous swells and surges starting Sunday and Monday.
Hurricane Lee has been downgraded since Thursday night, when it was a Category 5 hurricane.
The NHC urges people to continue checking the latest official forecasts and information from their local weather offices.
