Experience a whole new way of sharing today. Snap a photo or video, add a caption, and send it to a friend (or maybe a few). They’ll see it, laugh, and then the Snap disappears from the screen — unless they take a screenshot. If you want to share a Snap with all your friends, add it to your Snapchat Story, where each Snap lasts for 24 hours until it disappears, making room for a new one. You can download Snapchat for free without going to Google Play right here.
Images can be a bit grainy, and you might not be looking your best, but that’s the point. It’s about the moment, a connection between friends in the present, not just a pretty picture.
The allure of fleeting messages reminds us of the beauty of friendship—we don’t need a reason to keep in touch.

What’s new
When the lenses arrived in 2015, Snapchatters cheered as they changed their looks via augmented reality — they grew dog ears, changed hair color in an instant, and shared it with their friends who reacted to the fun. Couldn’t wait to do it.
Recent advances in AI are opening up even more possibilities. Starting today, with a new gen AI-powered feature called Dreams, Snapchatters can create imaginary images that let them try on new identities — whether it’s a deep-sea mermaid, or a Renaissance-era royal.
To start, the feature lets you use your face to create eight of these AI generated selfies — and soon, because we know Snapchatters like to bring their friends into the equation, Dreams will be able to match you with anyone else. Can also include friend who has also selected option.
To get started, go to Memories, where there’s a new tab for Dreams. With a few selfies, you can build a personalized Generative AI model and start investigating your dreams. Your first eight are free, and you can earn more with in-app purchases. It will be gradually available in Australia and New Zealand at first, and to Snapchatters globally over the next few weeks.
