A day forever filled with sadness and patriotism was stunned by a sight of beauty this year, when a stunning double rainbow emerged over the New York City skyline on a dark afternoon Monday.
That day marked 22 years since the September 11 attacks on the city, and the sky was filled with dark clouds and storms, befitting the mood. But the gloom was soon interrupted by two colorful arches spanning Manhattan, starting near One World Trade Center and extending beyond the Empire State Building.
