Following the injury to one child and the tragic death of another child, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Buffalo Games are recalling approximately 52,000 water bead activity kits.
US Consumer Product Safety Commission And Buffalo Games LLC publicly issued a recall notice Thursday for the toy company’s “Chuckle & Roar Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kit,” citing concerns over ingestion, suffocation and blockage hazards.
“Consumers should immediately discontinue use and keep the recalled Chuckle & Roar Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kit away from children,” the CPSC said. “If the water particle is swallowed, it expands and can cause ingestion, suffocation and intestinal blockage inside the child’s body, resulting in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration and the risk of death of the child.” Could.”
The Buffalo Games received reports of the death of a 10-month-old baby in Wisconsin in July 2023 and serious injuries of a 9-month-old baby in Maine in November 2022. The injuries were caused by swallowing water particles, which caused intestinal obstruction and required surgery in the latter case.
The toy in question comes in a purple box with the UPC number 079346627035 on the back and is sold only in Target stores or Target.com. The CPSC suggests that if you have one of the toys in your possession, contact Buffalo Games for a full refund or return the product to any Target store.
